Curriculum Overview: Financial Confidence Through Accountability
TYME (Teaching Youth Money Empowerment) helps college students stay housed and financially confident through structured, research-informed workshops and peer support.
Our workshops teach students how to prioritize rent, build sustainable budgeting habits, and apply financial literacy to real-life decisions. Each session is interactive, practical, and grounded in nationally recognized youth development principles that promote responsibility, self-confidence, and long-term success.
Workshop Sequence
Workshop 1 – Rent-First Budgeting
Students learn how to plan around financial-aid disbursements, prioritize rent and essentials, and create a personalized monthly budget that works.
Workshop 2 – Accountability & Financial Habits
This session focuses on consistency, peer accountability, and developing positive money habits that prevent mid-semester financial stress.
Workshop 3 – Confidence & Long-Term Planning
Students connect day-to-day budgeting choices with larger academic and career goals, building confidence and a sense of financial purpose.
Beyond the Classroom
TYME also provides bi-weekly walk-ins and one-on-one check-ins, giving students ongoing space to ask questions, review budgets, and track progress. These personalized sessions help participants stay housed, motivated, and supported throughout the semester.
All TYME workshops are offered at no cost to students or colleges and are continuously evaluated to ensure measurable, lasting impact on student success and housing stability.
